My New Iphone, Instagram, and My Life
I finally broke down and got a new iphone. I have been living with the cracked glass long enough. I love a new beginning! So my newest addiction is Instagram. But… In my defense, this isnt just another waste of my time, because… Im going to use it as a sort of photo diary of my life and my children (see resolution #1). I have great intentions of actually printing these and not just letting them live in my phone.

We brought our golf carts out to shoot the wedding Saturday. The girls were great sports about the new locations we wanted to try.
Our turn to host supper club. Sadies cousin was visiting from England, so we had to treat her to a little southern fare…Fried pork chops, fried green tomatoes, fried okra, fried corn, butter beans, corn bread, pear salad, and Pioneer Woman’s Blackberry Cobbler with Ice Cream. Our friends know to wear their fat pants when they come to our house . The blackberries and Blue Willow were provided by my grandmother.
Sam entertained the kids with the sparlklers I brought from Saturdays wedding. He has learned to be excited about the favors.
He spent the day with me at work on Tuesday. FYI his shirt was wet from the supersoakers at BIble School.
He made a prayer journal at bible school, and while he was at the studio with me I told him he should write in his prayer journal, this is what he came up with all on his own.

And the highlight of my week was spending yesterday with my favorite designers Ashley & Amanda shooting homes for her new site. You all know how I love design.

Poppy Seed Design is an award-winning advertising agency in Montgomery, Alabama with more than 15 years of experience. We believe in providing excellence to our clients in everything we do. Our specialties include design, marketing, branding and consulting.
Describe your personal style.
It’s always evolving, but I would describe it as clean, fresh and strong – with a touch of elegant.
What do you enjoy most about your career?
The variety it brings every day. From creating a brand image to designing a child’s birthday invitation, I love it all!
How did you choose your career path?
I was always interested in art and took lessons from age 9 through high school. When college time came I knew I wanted to major in something related to that field. After talking to several friends who had chosen the graphic design path, I knew it was right for me. My graphic design and marketing studies at Auburn laid the groundwork for a successful career in advertising.
How do you manage work/ life balance with small children at home?
It’s stressful at times, but you just have to go with the flow, especially with little ones. I try to remind myself that the work will always be there, the kids will not. And there are times when I have to drag myself away from the computer for a play date in the park or a picnic. But it’s always worth it!!

I love Fast Company, Wired, and Inc. Some of my favorite web sites are The Pioneer Woman, Design Mom, Seth Godin, Garden & Gun.

Interview with Josh Moates
One thing I’ve learned from an early age is to find successful people and find out what they are doing right. I’ve never been afraid to ask questions. My plan for this blog is to find succesful folks, creatives, business people, moms, friends and get to know them a little better, and share that with you guys. Some questions serious, some questions fun, and forgive my southern English, please.
The first person I had to interview is Josh Moates. We have been business partners for going on eight years now. I truly believe God put us together. He is like my brother. You will never meet a more honest, genuine, kind soul. The thing that impresses me the most about my dear friend is his ability to be accomplish any thing he sets out to do. He is such an individual. He lives life on his terms, and doesnt measure success by the worlds standards. He is a tremendously creative photographer, who has that special knack for capturing something so genuine in people. He is a super talented musician. (check him out on MTV here) And just the nicest, funniest guy you will ever meet. (And just in case you ever wondered, that tattoo of his says “Salvation.”)
