Picasso was eating in a cafe when a woman recognized him and asked him to sketch her a quick picture. Picasso said, “Sure!” and began sketching on a napkin. When he finished he handed it to the woman and said, “That’ll be $50,000.” The woman responded, “Why?! That took you 5 minutes!” and Picasso responded, “No, it took me 50 years.”

This is the greatest thing I’ve ever read! As the wife of an unbelievable landscaper, this resonates with me. I feel as though we are constantly battling with people over his rates. They very often do not realize the yers of learning and hard work that have gone into the work he is going to do for them.

the biggest challenge for us has always been pricing. Im a people pleaser, its hard for me to say no to anyone. But keep in mind this is not only our passion, but our livelihood. Sometimes you have to say no to some, to leave time for those who love and value what you do.
